On 2/26/05, our club sponsored a water station at the 9th annual 8 Tuff Miles race on St. John. We, of course, wore our parrotphenalia, had Jimmy blasting from the car stereo (thanks, Henrik!) and even had a live parrot (Lola - thanks AGAIN, Henrik!)
Although we didn't win the Best Water Station award, we had a blast! Many of the walkers and runners told me later that before they had even rounded the curve in the road, they heard the music and knew immediately who it was! We'll do it again next year!
Also, we had a very special treat on Tuesday, 3-1-05.... Jimmy was on island and did a show at a local resort! Some of us were very fortunate to be there! Special guests were Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson! What a night!
